The learner can:

    • Demonstrate clean presentation of self in the cafe wearing appropriate clothing
    • State three occasions when hands must be washed in the cafe
    • List five common ways that poor personal hygiene can spread bacteria
    • List three illnesses which would make it inappropriate to handle food
    • List four symptoms of an allergic reaction
    • State four food items which commonly contain allergens
    • State three First Aid steps to be followed if a customer suffers from anaphylactic shock
    • On five different occasions, demonstrate five control measures used to prevent allergic reactions in the cafe
