Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Explain how to wash hands using the six step technique.
    • Explain the potential consequences of not washing hands and cleaning nails before / whilst preparing food.
    • Identify and describe at least three personal hygiene rules and their purpose.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the rules by preparing to use the kitchen in the correct manner and describing why these rules are in place.
