Independent living and housing

This pathway supports young people to live as independently as is possible. It covers all aspects of independent living and home management from budgeting and cooking to knowing what sources of support are available in the local community.

Challenge Level NLH
The learner will show an understanding of place value and times tables when counting items in a shop; they will conduct a survey, display their results and will make amounts using up to three coins.
Entry 2  20
The learners will produce a simple budget for furnishing a flat demonstrating an understanding of wants and needs when living independently and managing own finances.

The learner will be able to select old clothing, create a design and apply a chosen textile technique to create a new fabric product.

The learner will be introduced to space and the solar system we live in, using a multi-sensory approach.
