The learner can:

    • Use  subordinating conjunctions  E.g. by using 'and', 'or' and 'but' to create compound sentences
    • Use coordinating conjunctions E.g. ‘when’, ‘where’, ‘if’, ‘that’ and ‘because’ to create complex sentences
    • Understand that in a story it is often past tense and identify the past tense verbs in a text E.g. The tiger went to the cupboard 
    • Understand that in a description of something which is true now, it is present tense then  identify the present  tense verbs in a text E.g. I like playing princesses and magic games best
    • Change a  present tense text into past tense
    • Change a past tense text  into present tense
