The learner will:

  1. Be able to explain why it is important to live in a clean environment within the home.

  2. Be able to explain which cleaning products are needed to be used around the home, clearly stating their purpose and how to use them safely.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Identify and explain what is meant by a clean environment.
    • Explain at least two potential consequences of not cleaning the home regularly.
    • Review current cleaning regime and state at least two changes that he/she would make in light of acquired knowledge.
    • Research different cleaning products that are available to use for each cleaning process in the home and identify and describe the products he/she would use for each task.
    • Identify and describe the purpose of each product.
    • Explain how to use each product safely and explain at least one potential hazard for each.
