What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Identify and describe the meaning of ALL the different care symbols.
    • Identify appropriate clothing that can be washed together.
    • Identify the correct setting on the washing machine for selected load.
    • Explain how to hand wash an item and describe at least two potential consequences of washing them using a washing machine.
    • Identify different ways of drying your clothes.
    • Research the cost of using a tumble dryer and compare this to other drying methods.
    • Describe 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of each drying method.
    • Demonstrate the selection of the appropriate drying methods for at least 2 selected loads and describe why you have chosen these.
