Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Identify a problem and who it affects
- Identify the need arising from the problem
- Identify a product that solves the design problem
- Identify the environment where the product will be used
- Carry out research on a product that, at least in part, solves the identified problem, research should include:
- Materials the product is made from
- Methods of construction
- Surface finish of the materials
- Features of the product that enable it to do the job that it was designed for
- Safety features
