The learner can:
- Listen to five to eight different poems
- Identify and talk about repeating patterns and rhymes
- Explain what a verse is
- Explain what similes, metaphors and/or personification is
- Recognise rhythms by clapping, tapping or stamping out syllables
- Write three or four poems
- Generate lists of words and phrases on atopic of interest
- Include repeating patterns and rhymes
- Include two examples of simile, metaphor and/or personification
- Use two examples of alliteration
- Write one poem with more two or more verses
- Perform own poems musing music, movement, gesture,mime and or sound effects to engage an audience
