What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do

The learner will:

  1. Be able to sound out individual letter sounds.

  2. Be able to blend three letters to form a C-V-C word.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Identify and sound out consonants
    • Identify and sound out short and long vowel sounds 
    • Sound out a C-V-C word 
    • Match the word to a picture to show the meaning
    • Write the word down 
    • Repeat this process for at least 10 words in total
