Learning outcomes

What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do

The learner will:

  1. Participate in a sensory cooking/baking activity.

  2. Participate in a sensory cleaning activity.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Take part in at least three cooking and/or baking activities
    • Be supported to participate in a sensory exploration of ingredients and equipment during each of the above cooking/baking activities, for example feeling flour, smelling lemon, hearing the food processor
    • Show a response to at least three different ingredients/equipment- this could include indicating a preference
    • Take part in at least three cleaning activities
    • Be supported to participate in a sensory exploration of the equipment and processes during each of the above activities, for example feeling the bubbles whilst washing up, making and smelling a cleaning product
    • Show a response to at least three safe cleaning products and/or activities- this could include indicating a preference
