Learning outcomes

What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do

The learner will:

  1. Participate in activities focussed on looking after themselves. 

  2. Participate in activities focussed on looking after the home.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Actively participate in at least three different personal care activities eg. teeth brushing, hair styling, face washing, hand washing, shaving
    • Communicate a like or dislike to aspects of these experiences through known facial expression, vocalisation, gestures, speech, signing or symbols
    • Begin to identify when they need help with some self-care tasks
    • Actively participate in at least three different home care activities with support eg. washing or drying up, loading a dishwasher, washing clothes, vacuuming, dusting, making a bed
    • Communicate a like or dislike to aspects of these experiences through known facial expression, vocalisation, gestures, speech, signing or symbols
    • Begin to identify when they need help with some home care tasks.
