    • Listen for and obtain information in familiar and unfamiliar contexts
    • Use appropriate feedback, including verbal and non-verbal signals, effectively to:
      • show they are engaged and interested
      • clarify and check understanding
      • reassure speakers
      • confirm their understanding of what is being said
    • Make interventions in conversations appropriately to check understanding or find out further information
    • Ask appropriate questions to retrieve relevant information
    • Listen for and identify relevant information from the responses given
