The learner will:

  1. Know that an orienteering map differs to a road map.

  2. Be able to follow a given route on a map.

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Identify an orienteering map from a road map
    • State the name of three things on a map; eg water; woods; buildings
    • Use the map to travel to four identified places
    • Provide evidence of arriving at each place eg photograph, punch on card
