Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • state 5 textiles that have different textures
    • describe how the fabrics could be categorised i.e. silks/satins soft smooth texture
    • choose at least 3 different pieces of fabric to make an item of clothing
    • follow basic health and safety rules when setting up and packing away the sewing machine
    • show careful and safe use when stitching items i.e. keeping fingers within a safe distance when feeding through the fabric
