Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • State three fruits growing in the wild that are safe to forage
    • Give one example of a safe place to forage and one example of a dangerous place to forage
    • Describe what is meant by fruit growing in the wild i.e. not on a persons private land
    • State the main safety rule when foraging for fruit 
    • Show that you can identify a safe and appropriate area to forage
    • Show that you can identify the fruit you are foraging
    • Show that you can harvest the fruit taking care of your personal safety i.e. being mindful of thorns and/or only harvesting within your reach
