What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do

The learner will:

  1. Explore recipe ingredients and cooking utensils with any of their five senses and operate a switch to make something happen.

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Use either touch, sight, smell, hearing, taste or touch to explore different foods 
    • Use either touch, sight, smell, hearing, taste or touch to explore different cooking utensils
    • Use any part of their body to operate a switch adapted kitchen appliance
    • Accept support from a familiar adult to participate in cooking skills such as mixing, blending, whisking, stirring, rolling, cutting or pouring
