Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

    • Describe how the lines are numbered eg  the numbers going across the map from left to right (eastings) go up in value eastwards, and the numbers going up the map from bottom to top (northings) because they go up in a northward direction
    • Explain how to get the first number (of the grid reference); eg; you go along the corridor (horizontal, x axis, eastings) and then up the stairs (vertical, y axis, northings)
