  2. Investigate the smell of a variety of ingredients used in baking.

The learner can:

    • Explore and taste a variety of sweet foods, e.g. honey, fruit, sugar
    • Explore and taste a variety of sour foods, e.g. lemon juice, lime juice
    • Explore and taste a variety of spicy foods, e.g. allspice, cinnamon
    • Explore and taste a variety of pungent foods, e.g. onion, blue cheese
    • Identify at least two tastes they like
    • Identify at least two tastes they dislike
    • Explore the smells of a variety of fragrant ingredients, e.g. rose water, herbs
    • Explore the smells of a variety of fruity ingredients, e.g. strawberries, banana
    • Explore the smells of a variety of fresh ingredients, e.g. lemon, peppermint
    • Identify at least two smells they like
    • Identify at least two smells they dislike
