The learner will:

  1. Be able to identify the use of a grater and the parts of a grater.

  2. Be able to use a grater safely and correctly on multiple occasions.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • State why they would use a grater
    • Identify a grater, or part of a grater, that slices
    • Identify a grater, or part of a grater, that finely grates
    • Identify a grater, or part of a grater, that coarsely grates
    • Identify two different foods that can be grated eg; cheese; carrots
    • Identify two different foods that cannot be grated eg tomatoes; raspberries
    • State how to use a grater safely, eg holding onto the handle; keeping fingers away from the grater
    • Use a grater safely to slice a food item; with physical assistance where required, on at least two occasions
    • Use a grater safely to finely or coarsely grate a food item; with  physical assistance where required, on at least two occasions
    • Clean the grater safely
