Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • State the five food groups from the Eatwell plate and what foods are in each group
    • State what it means to have a healthy balanced diet
    • Fill out a weekly food diary
    • State how their diet could become healthier
    • Choose three healthy meals
    • Prepare a shopping list for each meal and price up items required 
    • State which meals are within budget, choose one to cook and state why the meal has been chosen
    • Agree a final shopping list with an appropriate person 
    • Prepare a list of kitchen equipment required
    • Create a plan showing the steps that will need to be taken to create the meal
