Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Describe at least three factors involved in consuming a healthy and balanced diet
    • Demonstrate they know what the Eatwell Guide is
    • State at least four types of food for each of the food groups on the Eatwell Plate
    • State two changes that could be made to their own diet 
    • Identify and state whether guests have specific dietary requirements e.g. vegan, allergies
    • Research healthy starters, mains and desserts within designated budget and select an appropriate recipe for each course
    • State final menu choices and explain the thinking behind these choices
