The learner can:

    • Talk about and recall key facts
    • Give brief eye contact to the speaker
    • Listen to the person who is speaking
    • Use speech, symbols, signing and/or AAC to make a request eg. express a choice, give a greeting, request information
    • Use a range of written styles to produce a brochure about the local area
    • Compose simple sentences about places to visit within the local area
    • Compose captions for photographs linked to a community visit
