The learner will:

  1. Be able to identify safe and clean recycled items to use to make obstacles.

  2. Be able to design dog agility obstacles out of recycled materials.

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Find and show a selection of recycled materials which are safe to use to create dog agility obstacles
    • Explain why each material would be suitable for the construction of agility obstacles
    • Show three items of recycling which are not suitable to use in creating dog agility obstacles
    • Explain why these would not be suitable for the construction of agility obstacles 
    • Create a design for weaving obstacles and identify the materials to be used
    • Create a  design for a jump over obstacle and identify the materials to be used
    • Create a design for an obstacle for a dog to go under and identify the materials to be used
    • Check each design with an appropriate person to assess suitability before creating the obstacles
